Smythesdale Pharmacy
Smythesdale Pharmacy is proudly located in The Well at 19 Heales St, Smythesdale, right next to Clinic@thewell medical practice. This close partnership allows us to work directly with doctors to manage medication plans and promptly refer patients for urgent medical care when needed.
Established in 2011 by Julian Daffy and George Vulgaris, the pharmacy thrived with strong support from Ballarat Community Health. Despite the challenges following their departure in 2021, Smythesdale Pharmacy remained dedicated to serving the community. The opening of Clinic@thewell in 2022 with Dr. Reed further strengthened local healthcare services.
In 2023, Briddon took on the role of pharmacist in charge and, in 2024, proudly became the local owner after purchasing the pharmacy from Julian and George. This marks an exciting new chapter focused on delivering personalised care and strengthening community health.
Meet the Team
Briddon
Pharmacist & Owner
Briddon, a Ballarat local, is dedicated to providing personalised care and supporting the Smythesdale community. After completing his pharmacy degree at Griffith University, he returned home to be closer to family. Briddon began his career with an internship at Crawford’s Pharmacy in 2013, continuing there as a pharmacist until 2020. He and his family then owned and operated North Hobart Pharmacy, gaining valuable experience in pharmacy ownership.

Family commitments brought Briddon back to Ballarat in 2022, where he joined Smythesdale Pharmacy after a brief period as a locum. After 18 months of serving the community, he proudly took the opportunity to purchase the pharmacy in 2024. Now as the local owner, Briddon is passionate about delivering quality healthcare and strengthening community connections.
Emma
Pharmacy Assistant
Emma, a Ballarat local and wife of pharmacist Briddon, loves helping customers find the perfect gifts and homewares at the pharmacy. With her background in beauty therapy, she’s always happy to share tips and advice on skincare and beauty products.
Outside of the pharmacy, Emma enjoys going on trips and spending time with her family.
Leanne
Pharmacy Technician
Leanne, a valued member of the Smythesdale Pharmacy team, is a Skipton local with over 30 years of experience in the pharmacy industry. She has been with the pharmacy since its establishment, playing a key role in medication packing and dispensing.
Outside of work, Leanne enjoys quality time with her family and friends and adores her corgi, Lizzy.
Trudy
Pharmacy Assistant
Trudy has been with Smythesdale Pharmacy for nearly a decade, bringing a wealth of experience to the team. She’s dedicated to providing great service and supporting the pharmacy in every way.
When she’s not at the pharmacy, Trudy enjoys playing tennis, going on holidays, and making homemade produce.
